Carnotaurus (loosely translated as "carnivorous bull") was a reptilian theropod dinosaur of the clade Furileusauria within the family Abelisauridae, living during the Upper Cretaceous period , approximately 72 to 69.9 million years ago. It had two growths above its eyes that resembled bull horns. This resemblance gave rise to its name. Fossils of this dinosaur were discovered in the Argentine<span style="color: #202122; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 16px; background-color: #ffffff;">province Chubut. Based on the findings of skull fragments, it is believed that it may have been distributed almost all over the Gondwana supercontinent .
